Attendance Office
Main Building - Room 118![]() Mr. Adrian Magee, AP ATTENDANCE POLICY Regular and punctual attendance is mandatory for all students. During school hours, students are expected to be in the classroom. ABSENCES Parents must call the Attendance Office by 9:00 am of the day of the absence (310-847-1500). When returning from an absence, the student must report to the Attendance Office before school with a note of explanation from his or her parent or guardian. If a student returns without a note, the absence becomes a truancy on the student's attendance record. A student may clear the truancy by bringing a note to the Attendance Office the next day. Parents should notify the Attendance Office of prolonged absences. TARDY POLICY Students are marked tardy if they are not in their assigned seats and ready to work when the bell begins to ring. Three tardies in a grading period earn a "U" in work habits on the report card. There are tardy sweeps conducted randomly. Students caught by the tardy sweep are given detention and cleaning duties. Don't get caught! EARLY LEAVE If a student must leave school during the day, he or she must bring a note from a parent or guardian. The note should be brought to the Attendance Office before school, as a phone call to the parent or guardian must be made to verify the note, time and destination. Parents or guardians must present a photo ID when signing out the student.
