Parent Center

Ms. T. Vallejo,
Community Representative

The Parent Center is a place where parents are made to feel comfortable on our campus. Various classes and activities are offered through the Parent Center.

"Multiplication Madness" - This program helps the 6th graders master their times-tables. This program succeeds in increasing the parent's and community's involvement in the classrooms.

Stand Up - professional advice is offered to parents having problems with their teen's behavior. The program is offered every Thursday at 6:30pm in the Parents Center.

Cultural Enrichment Program - the folkloric dance provides students with the understanding of their roots. The students are able to interact with their parents as well as exercise and learn in a healthy atmosphere.

Health workshops - parents are provided with various health workshops, such as "Cancer Prevention", "Breast and Prostate Cancer, "How to Talk to our Kids About Sex", and "How to Understand our Teens." Parents are able to acquire knowledge about the different health themes offered in these workshops.

Home Economics Classes - fun and educational classes implemented by the Parent Center.

Science Night - a night where parents and community members are encouraged to walk through our campus and see various student-created science projects.

Our goal in the Parent Center is to increase parental involvement on the governance councils, volunteers to come to classrooms and offices to do various duties and tasks. We also want to expand the classes offered and offer a literacy night through the English Department.

Come and visit the Parent Center across from the Student Cafeteria!
