Computer & Internet Use
Students have access to computers throughout the school. We have a Macintosh Lab with 40 computers available for teachers to come with their classes to do research, type reports, and projects. We also have an intervention lab with 40 additional computers where Math and English teachers bring their classes. There are also computers in each classroom for students to use, and in the library there are 10 desktops and 30 laptops. Students must show their ID to be able to us the computers in the Library.Prior to using any school computers, all students must have in file a copy signed by them and their parents certifying that they have read, understand and agreed to abide by the provisions of Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) of the Los Angeles Unified School District. The LAUSD Policy and Wilmington Middle School’s Policy establishes that computers are for educational use only and that students are prohibited from visiting websites that are not appropriate. We expect all students to abide by these regulations. Students who violate this agreement will not be able to use any computer on campus and could be subject to disciplinary action and/or change in schools. Publishing Pictures on the School Web Page A completed form is required to post any information on the web or used for publicity regarding students or staff. A parent's signature is required for students under the age of 18. Students over the age of 18 or Staff members may sign for themselves. LAUSDnet requires ALL personal information posted on LAUSDnet have verifiable written permission on file at the school or office site. This includes, photographs, names or other information. This document grants the District the right to print, photograph, record, and edit as desired, the biographical information, name, image, likeness, and/or voice of the student or staff on audio, video, film, slide, or any other electronic and printed formats, currently developed, (known as "Recordings”) for the purposes stated or related to the specific request. |
