Health workshops - parents are provided with various health workshops, such as "Cancer Prevention", "Breast and Prostate Cancer, "How to Talk to our Kids About Sex", and "How to Understand our Teens." Parents are able to acquire knowledge about the different health themes offered in these workshops.
Renaissance Fair- a night where parents, students and community members are encouraged to participate in a lot of activities presented by teachers.
Science Night - a night where parents and community members are encouraged to walk through our campus and see various student-created science projects.
Transition to Middle School- parents come to learn about supporting students' success in middle school, topics include: Introduction to Middle School, Adolescent Social Pressures, Academic Achievement/Reclassification and Preparing for College.
Got College! (Going on to College) - assists parents in understanding the importance of higher education and the academic preparation needed for their child success, information helps parents understand the California Master Plan.
Parent Volunteers - parents work on a lot of activities in the school like: chaperons for field trips, mailing letters for parents, supervision on campus at lunch time, supervision in the hall ways and supporting the dress code. Also we have parents representatives on the advisory Councils like CEAC/ELAC and SSC. To be a volunteer they have to fill out an application and TB test.
Our goal in the Parent Center is to increase parental involvement on the governance councils, volunteers to come to classrooms and offices to do various duties and tasks. We also want to expand the classes offered and offer a literacy night through the English Department.
