Purpose of the Library Media Center (LMC)
The mission of the library media program is to ensure that students and staff are effective users of ideas and information. This mission is accomplished:

By providing intellectual and physical access to materials in all formats. -
By providing instruction to foster competence and stimulate interest in reading, viewing, and using information and ideas. -
By working with other educators to design learning strategies to meet the needs of individual students. -Information Power: Building Partnerships for Learning (1998).
Hours of the Library Media Center:
Monday, Wednesday, Friday: 7:20 am- 3:20 pm Tuesday (Regular Bell Schedule): 7:20 am- 3:20 pm Tuesday (Professional Development Bell Schedule): 7:20 am- 1:19 pm Thursday (Common Planning Time Schedule): 7:20 am- 1:49 pm
**Please note, your teacher librarian's lunch is the first 30-minutes of 5th period, unless otherwise notified.
Check Outs: 1. You may check out three books at one time. 2. You may check out your books for a two week loan period. 3. Your materials are due on the dated stamped in the book. Please return all books on or before that due date. 4. Reference books, and magazines may not be checked out of the library.
Overdue Books: There is a .10 cent per day fine for each book that is returned late to the library.
Library Passes: Students must have a signed pass from their teacher when visiting the library during class time and during the lunch period.
Computer Use Guidlelines: 1. Students must have a signed AUP on file in the Attendance Office in order to use the school's Internet. 2. Please sign your name on the computer log form at the circulation desk to use a computer. 3. During class time, students may only use the computers for academic purposes (this means no games or free-web searching allowed during the instructional periods). 4. Appropriate free-web searching may be allowed BEFORE school, DURING lunch, and After school. 5. Students with ACADEMIC needs have priority for the computers at all times. 6. You are not allowed to download files or games on the library's computers.
